meal at your hearth from a menu of
basic historical recipes
or you can
select your own menu. |

the North and South in the time of the War of the Rebellion. The program

wartime. |

heirloom foodstuffs and authentic recipes to showcase them.
|
|
"Pleasure of Your Company"

Partake of a "proper
tea" from a time when people knew just how to do such things, or explore the
variety of tasty morsels appropriate for evening entertainments. Enjoy wine
and cheese in authentic recipes from past times, or indulge in an evening
devoted to the many and surprising ways chocolate can appear in a meal. |
American Irish:
"Dining on the New Sod"

Irish
immigrants to America found a far more abundant array of foods available to
them than the diet of the cousins they left behind in the "oulde sod".
Come and learn to prepare some of these delicacies, and the ways they
differed from what we think of as "traditional Irish" foods. |
Columbian
Exchange
Columbus may have been seeking new trade
routes or gold, but the foods of the Americas enriched Europe in a far
greater way. Enjoy preparing and dining on a menu of the food gifts
that went from America to Europe, and learn more about this "Columbian
Exchange" that forever altered the way the world ate. |
